Questions

Overview

What are your COVID Health & Safety measures?

We want you to enjoy not only an informative and fun, but also a safe Visual 1st 2022!

As the COVID pandemic is still evolving, we will announce and implement specific health and safety measures as needed to address the safety and well-being of everyone attending our conference.

At a minimum, if you are experiencing, or within the 14 days prior to our conference or event have experienced, symptoms associated with COVID we ask you to not attend. We will give you credit for attending a future edition of Visual 1st.

We will utilize the venue’s outside courtyard and arrange our conference room, exhibitor rooms and dining area in ways to avoid congestion as much as possible.  Where needed, we might require wearing masks in specific areas or at specific times.

We will monitor any changes in local regulations pertinent to COVID and announce these prior to the event.

What if I won't be able to attend?

All sales are final, but we understand – sometimes schedules change. You may transfer your ticket to someone else or receive credit for our 2023 conference. In either case, please contact us at contact@suite48A.com to receive approval.

Any suggestions for hotels?

First and foremost, as hotel capacity in San Francisco is limited, we strongly suggest making reservations early.

If budget is an important consideration, you might also want to consider looking into AirBNB or, if you are planning to rent a car in any case, you might consider staying in the North Bay (across the Golden Gate Bridge), which could actually be a relatively short ride to our venue.

If budget is not your main consideration, you can treat yourself by staying in one of two great old-style boutique hotels: the Lodge at the Presidio and the Inn at the Presidio, both in walking distance from our venue. However, they have a limited number of rooms, so also book early.

Will there be a Women in Imaging networking luncheon again?

Yes! This will be on the first day of the conference, prior to the start of the program, Oct. 4 at
11:30 am - 1:30 PM. We cordially invite all attendees who identify as women or nonbinary to attend!

Will there be a separate DIY Video Summit?

No, Visual 1st will cover topics relevant to both photo and video content types. Increasingly, the same business, technology and even product considerations tend to apply to both photo and video. For this reason, we won’t have a separate video summit but encourage the historically more photo-focused developers to learn from and share experiences with their more video-focused counterparts – and v.v! For similar reasons, we also won’t have separate AI or mobile summits or tracks – AI and mobile aspects will most likely be covered in all sessions in some fashion.

Will there be recordings made available?

No, sorry. Visual 1st is very much a participatory, live conference. Our focus is to bring imaging industry thought leaders and peers together and enable them to freely express their views without needing be concerned that each word could be tracked years into the future!

Why would I want to do a Show & Tell demo slot for my product?

Show & Tell demo slots provide registered attendees industry visibility and an extra networking opportunity during the 1.5-day conference, enabling interested parties to seek them out for any partnering opportunities. There is no extra charge for presenting.

Presenting Show & Tell apps will also contend for one of our Visual 1st Awards.

You’ll be among an impressive lineup of current and past presenters. Please review our notable Show & Tell Awards judges, last year’s Show & Tell presenters at our main conference, last year’s Show & Tell Awards winners, the video app Show & Tell presenters at last year’s DIY Video Summit, and past presenters who have successfully exited through acquisition.

How do you select apps for the Show & Tell slots?

We select our Show & Tell presenters from companies who have never presented their solutions before at Visual 1st, in addition to those sponsors who have new or upgraded products to show.

We try to have a balance between apps that cater to a variety of use cases. We don’t want any particular category (such as camera apps, print apps, collage apps, etc.) to crowd out the other ones.

In addition, to promote diversity, we especially encourage female presenters to apply!

Is the Awards jury involved in selecting the Show & Tell slots?

No, the jury will only decide who receives the Visual 1st Awards from among the apps that will be presented in the Show & Tell sessions. Likewise, we as organizers are not involved in determining the Awards winners.

How can I request a Show & Tell demo slot for my app?

Please contact us and describe the app you’d like to present.

How can I get additional industry exposure?

Please contact us to discuss this year’s sponsorship options.
